Forty years ago, Basil Borger and Frank Robson conceived the idea of forming a club of senior bowlers in the LNCDBA. To this end, the Port Macquarie West Sixty and Over Bowlers Club was formed on 6 August 1968 with the Grand United Port Macquarie West Bowling Club as the host Club

The foundation office bearers were Arthur Studman, Patron, Arthur Pearson President, Nicol McLaren Vice President, Lachlan Groves Secretary/Treasurer, Frank Robson Bowls Secretary. The Committee was W Dunnachie, Peter lake, Robert McLaren and Honorary Life Member, Basil Borger.
The life membership fee was fixed at $1 and remained the same for over 25 years.
During it’s 40 years, the Club has enrolled approximately 2500 members throughout Australia and New Zealand.
The formation of the Sixty and Overs Club has been fully justified when one observes the good fellowship and camaraderie that prevails among the members which exemplifies the Club Motto – “The game before the glory”
